30 Truths - Day 18

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage.

And so the controversy begins....

I personally think that there is no reason for anyone to be denied the right to marry someone who they love & want to spend the rest of their lives with. I feel that it is none of my business how other people live their lives...especially their sex lives.

However, this is how the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the word "marriage":

(1) : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law

So if marriage means to unite with the opposite sex & be recognized by law then gay people really can't be "married" now can they? Maybe if they changed the wording of a gay couples "union" then it might be more socially acceptable!?
